NHN Recognized in the Integrated Marketing Campaign Category

(Omaha, Neb., 4/25/2024): Nebraska Health Network earned a Silver Citation of Excellence award at the 2024 AMA Omaha Pinnacle Awards Ceremony on April 24. NHN entered in the integrated marketing campaign, small business category for its Community Awareness Campaign.

NHN developed the campaign to help empower community members to find assistance for Social Determinants of Health using its free resource, Community Relay.

Social Determinants of Health are the conditions in the environments where people are born, live, learn, work, play, worship and age that impact their health and quality of life. SDoH are responsible for up to 80% of a patient's health outcomes.

Recognizing the social stigmas surrounding SDoH and that patients may hesitate to ask for help, NHN developed the campaign to empower community members to find assistance independently. The campaign targeted four groups that the Accountable Care Organization believed are trusted resources for their constituents: employers, faith-based organizations, schools/ daycares and community centers.

Nebraska Health Network partnered with findhelp in 2020 to launch a social services platform that connects individuals in need with local programs and support. Through the white label program, NHN branded the resource Community Relay.

Cosimano said Community Relay began as a powerful resource to help clinicians address Social Determinants of Health with patients. “But we also knew there was a tremendous opportunity to introduce this resource to the community,” she said. “We wanted a way to connect with the individuals who, often because of the social barriers they face, are not prioritizing their health and may not be seen in a clinical setting.”

The integrated marketing campaign directed users to unique landing pages where they could download a marketing resource kit to help promote Community Relay within their organization and community. Following the campaign, Community Relay searches increased 137%.
