Nebraska Health Network Recognizes 2026 Outstanding Clinics

Omaha, Neb. (Sept. 23, 2026): Three Nebraska Health Network clinics took home a 2026 Outstanding Clinic Award at the NHN Annual meeting on Tuesday, proving their commitment to advancing value-based care, leadership and NHN’s core values.

These clinics have shown achievements in patient care, clinical quality and community service. NHN is proud to give the 2026 Outstanding Clinic Award to Arbor Heights Family Medicine; Methodist Physician Clinic Prairie Fields Family Medicine and Nebraska Medicine Family Medicine Clinic at Durham Outpatient Center.

Arbor Heights Family Medicine has demonstrated a strong commitment to delivering high-quality, value-based care through a consistent focus on data connectivity, risk capture and quality improvement. The team has worked closely with its EMR system to support effective data sharing, while providers have participated in lunch-and-learn sessions to strengthen their understanding of the role risk capture plays in value-based care. The clinic also consistently works its gap lists and submits medical records to help close care gaps and improve patient outcomes. This commitment to quality is reflected in the clinic’s 2025 performance, including an 85.47% cHCC recapture rate and an 82.18% Annual Wellness Visit completion rate, both placing Arbor Heights Family Medicine among the top five performers across the network and community clinics. Together, these efforts demonstrate the team’s ongoing dedication to quality and continuous improvement.

Methodist Physician Clinic Prairie Fields Family Medicine clinic has made remarkable strides in quality performance over the past two years, driven by a strong commitment to proactive patient engagement. Through engaged leadership, provider collaboration and a clinic-wide focus on closing care gaps, the team has achieved meaningful and sustained gains in preventive screenings, chronic disease management and wellness initiatives. This progress across the clinic’s entire patient population reflects the team’s dedication to delivering high-quality, value-based care and improving the health and well-being of every patient they serve.

Nebraska Medicine Family Medicine, Durham Outpatient Center was recognized for outstanding diabetes quality performance after using innovative technology to expand access to diabetic eye exams. After holding steady at 58% for diabetic eye exam completion, the clinic implemented an Eyenuk diabetic camera in December 2023, using AI-interpreted retinal images to provide real-time, in-clinic diabetic retinopathy screening. Through a multidisciplinary, team-driven approach, FM DOC increased completion rates from 58% to 80% over two years, bringing an additional 300 patients up to date on this important preventive care measure. The improvement places FM DOC among Nebraska Medicine’s top-performing clinics and highlights the impact of innovation and teamwork in delivering high-quality patient care.

“Each of these clinics demonstrates what is possible when dedicated teams come together with a shared commitment to improving the health and well-being of the patients and communities they serve,” Lee Handke, PharmD, MBA, CEO of Nebraska Health Network said. “Whether through strengthening data connectivity, closing care gaps, engaging patients proactively or embracing innovative technology, Arbor Heights Family Medicine, Methodist Physician Clinic Prairie Fields Family Medicine and Nebraska Medicine Family Medicine Clinic at Durham Outpatient Center have each found meaningful ways to advance quality and value-based care. We are proud to recognize their achievements and celebrate the leadership, collaboration and dedication that make a lasting difference for patients,” Dr. Handke said.

The NHN Annual Meeting includes networking, education and a chance to celebrate the Accountable Care Organization’s top performers. This year, there was a timely panel presentation on the evolving landscape of obesity management, including current treatment approaches, the growing use of GLP-1 medications and the impact of emerging pharmaceutical trends on healthcare costs.
